Peristiwa 26 Oktober
JAKARTA – Sejumlah peristiwa sejarah terjadi baik dalam maupun luar negeri pada tanggal 26 Oktober setiap tahunnya. Di antaranya, Gunung Merapi Yogyakarta meletus menewaskan Mbah Maridjan.
– Kelahiran Hillary Clinton
Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton merupakan senator junior Amerika Serikat dari negara bagian New York, suatu jabatan yang dimulai pada 3 Januari 2001.
Ia menikah dengan Bill Clinton, Presiden Amerika Serikat ke-42 dan Ibu Negara Amerika Serikat selama dua masa jabatan (1993 – 2001). Ia sempat menjadi seorang pengacara.
– Presiden Korea Selatan Park Chung-hee tewas dibunuh
Park Chung-hee lahir di Gumi-si, Gyeongsang Utara, Jepang-Berkuasa di Korea Selatan, 30 September1917 dan meninggal di Seoul, Korea Selatan, 26 Oktober 1979 pada umur 62 tahun.
Park Chung-hee merupakan mantan jenderal tentara ROK dan pimpinan Republik Korea pada periode 1961-1979. Ia dianggap berjasa melakukan modernisasi Korea Selatan melalui industrialisasi berorientasi ekspor.
Namun, dituduh melakukan pelanggaran hak asasi manusia pada periode tambahan kepresidenannya. Dirinya dipilih sebagai salah satu dari “100 Orang Asia Abad Ini” (“100 Asians of the Century”) oleh Time Magazine pada 1999. Ia pernah lolos dari beberapa percobaan pembunuhan sampai akhirnya terbunuh pada 26 Oktober 1979 oleh Kim Jae-kyu, direktur KCIA dan teman lamanya.
– Gunung Merapi Meletus
Letusan Merapi 2010 adalah rangkaian peristiwa gunung berapi yang terjadi di Merapi di Indonesia. Aktivitas seismik dimulai pada akhir September 2010, dan menyebabkan letusan gunung berapi pada hari Selasa tanggal 26 Oktober 2010, mengakibatkan sedikitnya 353 orang tewas, termasuk Mbah Maridjan.
Kronologi letusan itu, adalah:
Pada 20 September, Status Gunung Merapi dinaikkan dari Normal menjadi Waspada oleh BPPTK Yogyakarta. Kemudian, 21 Oktober, status berubah menjadi Siaga pada pukul 18.00 WIB.
Lalu 25 Oktober, BPPTK Yogyakarta meningkatkan status Gunung Merapi menjadi Awas pada pukul 06.00 WIB. Pada 26 Oktober, Gunung Merapi memasuki tahap erupsi. Menurut laporan BPPTKA, letusan terjadi sekitar pukul 17.02 WIB. Sedikitnya terjadi hingga tiga kali letusan. Letusan diiringi keluarnya awan panas setinggi 1,5 meter yang mengarah ke Kaliadem, Kepuharjo. Letusan ini menyemburkan material vulkanik setinggi kurang lebih 1,5 km.
27 Oktober, Gunung Merapi pun meletus. Dari sekian lama penelitian gunung teraktif di dunia ini pun meletus.
28 Oktober, Gunung Merapi memuntahkan Lava pijar yang muncul hampir bersamaan dengan keluarnya awan panas pada pukul 19.54 WIB.
– Mbah Maridjan meninggal dunia
Raden Ngabehi Surakso Hargo, atau lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Mbah Maridjan lahir di Dukuh Kinahrejo, 5 Februari 1927 dan meninggal di Sleman, 26 Oktober 2010 pada umur 83 tahun.
Ia adalah seorang juru kunci Gunung Merapi. Amanah sebagai juru kunci ini diperoleh dari Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana IX. Setiap gunung Merapi akan meletus, warga setempat selalu menunggu komando darinya untuk mengungsi.
Mulai dipercaya sebagai wakil juru kunci pada 1970. Hingga kemudian menjadi juru kunci.
Sejak kejadian Gunung Merapi akan meletus pada 2006, Mbah Maridjan semakin terkenal. Karena faktor keberanian dan namanya yang dikenal oleh masyarakat luas tersebut, Mbah Maridjan ditunjuk untuk menjadi bintang iklan salah satu produk minuman energi.
